Valorie’s Breastfeeding Index

Later today I will post a review of the baby blog of 2007 so why does breastfeeding get its own category? Well, in part as an answer to readers who want to read what I’ve written on breastfeeding. I’ve written so much on breastfeeding at this point that you all have asked for an index of sorts so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for. It’s also in part because I’ve become known as the breastfeeding lady. . .guru. . .whatever you want to call it. I’ve been at this breastfeeding business for a long time and many of … Continue reading

The Baby Blog Week in Review: Sept 6 to Sept 16

When Breastfeeding In Public Is a Crime

I caught a story over the internet and it grabbed my attention. I think in part because I live in a place where the meter maids are a little ‘ticket happy’. She is appealing it but says that if the government is truly trying to encourage breastfeeding, the ticket should be dropped. Anyone who reads my blogs regularly knows that I’m a huge breastfeeding … Continue reading

Can We Just Leave Breastfeeding Mothers Alone?

Today at 11am several breastfeeding mothers are staging a protest at Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado. Apparently, one breastfeeding mother was harassed by park staff. So she turned to the internet community and posted a rant on a pro-breastfeeding forum and now the incident has garnered state wide attention thanks to a local news station. These stories come up all the time actually but this one caught my interest because I grew up going to Elitch’s. As usual, there are discrepancies between the mother’s story and Elitch’s version. While the mother says that security officers threatened to arrest her and … Continue reading

Politics 101: More on McCain’s Platform

This is the last and final blog on McCain’s position on various issues. For those of you who are thinking that I highly favor the candidate–well, I’m not saying. But I will say that I will give equal blog time to the other candidates as well. I think it’s important to have a good overview of each candidate and their positions on various issues before you can make an informed choice on who to vote for. *Strict Constructionist–This is perhaps one of the most glaring differences between McCain and the other “major party” candidates. A strict constructionist philosophy essentially means … Continue reading
