Good morning and welcome to our first weekend in November. There are just 19 days left until Thanksgiving and it's a beautiful crisp morning here. We got off to a bit of a slow start this week as Halloween took place on Tuesday and we're recovering from one holiday as we get ready to ramp up towards another. Valorie and I would love to hear what you are thankful about with your baby this Thanksgiving season, so feel free to send us your stories so we can share them!

Here is our baby blog week in review:

Saturday, October 28

In Stages of Baby Fussiness: After 12 weeks to 12 Months, Valorie addresses the fact that the fussy stage continues past the first 12 weeks and what tired moms need to know and she knows what she's talking about as a mother of 5 children herself all under the age of 7. In Babies in the News: Infant Twins Have Different Skin Color we discuss the medical rarity of twins born to a British woman with different genetic codes - allowing one twin to be dark-skinned and the other to be light-skinned. In Babies in the News: A Toddler Was Trapped in a Vending Machine we talked about the brave toddler who helped the firemen rescue him from inside a stuffed animal machine in an arcade.

Sunday, October 29

We took Sunday off! As every mom knows, we all need a down day here and there. Time turned back an hour today and that's still taking some getting used to.

Monday, October 30

In Your Baby's Body Clock we discussed the need for adjusting your baby's sleep schedule to help them adjust to the time change. This is a good trick to learn in case of travel that takes you across several time zones as well.

Tuesday, October 31

In All About the Flu Shot, Valorie discusses the flu shot and that pediatricians are now recommending that all children under the age of 5 should be given a flu vaccination.

Wednesday, November 1

In Cause of SIDS? Valorie discussed an interesting report from the Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston that linked a specific brain malfunction with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and how groundbreaking this research may be to helping prevent SIDS in the future.

Thursday, November 2

In Baby on Board - Why? we discussed the baby on board signs and what they mean. They are more than just a pop culture fad - or at least they should be. In Hold the Phone! Research States that Parents Should Pick Up Their Baby When It Cries we discussed a new research study that promotes parents following their own instincts and not being hesitant or worried about spoiling their infant by responding to their cries.

Friday, November 3

But How Could She Not Know? discussed the question many readers probably had about a woman coming into a hospital due to severe stomach pains, thinking she was having some kind of kidney stone, bleeding ulcer or even appendicitis only to discover that she was 37 weeks pregnant and actually in labor - the rarity of a woman being that far pregnant and not knowing it just boggles the mind - but this isn't the first story of its kind.

What was your favorite story this week?
