Study Finds Pregnant Women Can Pass PTSD to Their Babies

Generally speaking, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is something that a person develops after experiencing something shocking, traumatic, and life-threatening. A study finds that pregnant women who were 9 / 11 survivors can pass PSTD to their children. The trimester that the pregnancy was in at the time the event occurred plays a part. Spring Babies Have Slightly Higher Risk of Anorexia

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that tends to start when someone is in their teen years. Teens, (and adults), who have this psychological disorder have a distorted body image, which causes the person to be overly preoccupied with controlling their food intake. Researchers have found that babies that were born during the Spring months have a slightly higher risk of developing anorexia nervosa. Safe Haven Law Being Used to Abandon Older Children, not Babies for Adoption

The governor of Nebraska has called the state legislature back to a special session to deal with unintended repercussions of Nebraska’s Safe Haven law, which took effect this past summer. The consequence of the law that legislators probably never intended is the abandonment of older children and teenagers by their parents. Thirty-four of the 35 children abandoned under the law have been over the age of five.
