The New Year’s Babies of 2017

There are babies born every day of the year, but the babies born on New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day, get the most attention from the news channels and websites. These babies experience a moment of fame shortly after being born. Here is a quick look at some of the New Year’s Babies of 2017. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Flying with a Baby? Choose Southwest.

Flying around the country is nothing new in my book. Going to college out of state meant I flew at least twice a year to go back home, sometimes more. I never had loyalty to a particular airline; whichever was cheapest was the one I chose. Things have changed a bit since my college days. Bags often no longer fly free, and I’ve added a baby to the items I have to carry on the plane. I’ve flown three times with our daughter, and I have to say that the most recent, with Southwest Airlines, was by far the most … Continue reading

New Baby = New Holiday Experience

Ah, the holiday season. So full of fun and exciting activities! For me, the best part of the holidays is getting together with family. I do not have the privilege of living in the same state as my family, so I really look forward to the times we get to be together. Now that life is returning back to normal, I’ve had some time to reflect on our experiences this year. A big thing that sticks out in my mind is that nothing is the same with a baby! For example, flying without a baby is nothing like flying with … Continue reading

Baby Blog Month in Review: July 2008

Two of my three children are summer babies. That is, they were born in the summer and had their first months surrounded by sunshine streaming in the windows, the sound of birds chirping, and days spent wearing nothing but a diaper and a “onsie.” I made sure that they had Fourth of July outfits ready, even though one of them arrived a week after the holiday. I guess he just wasn’t interested in the parade. Do you have a summer baby, too? We had a lot of new information to share this past month, such as recall notices and new … Continue reading

The BMK Fund: This practice is very near and dear to my heart and it was neat to have a platform such as blogging for Families.com to share it on.
