Juice Box Holders

Now that my daughter can drink through a straw at seventeen months, I have decided that she is allowed to drink from juice boxes. It is a lot easier than having to worry about whether or not she has enough juice in her sippy cup when we are out. I can just pop a couple of juice boxes in the backpack that I use to carry her stuff and get going. Of course, as strong as she is, when I gave her one the other day she grabbed the juice box away from me and I ended up with a soaked kid. Good thing I carry extra clothes for her. That's when I figured it was time to go shopping. No, I don't mean I was going shopping for new clothes -- I mean shopping for juice box holders. For those of you who may have never known they existed, juice box holders are a fantastic invention. They allow your child to feel like a big boy or big girl by holding his or her own juice box. The great part is that even if your child is still at the age where s/he is tempted to squeeze the box, such as the age of my daughter, the holder prevents this from happening. Your child can squeeze the holder and not even make so much as a dent in the box. They are usually great for juice bags, too (such as Capri Sun and the like). So your child gets to feel a little more grown-up, and you don't have to worry as much about a stained carpet in your home or a soaked backseat in your car.

The only drawback to this product that I can see so far is the size of the holder in relation to the size of the juice box. When I put my daughter's juice box in the holder the other day, I noticed how much bigger the holder was. Either they make them that way or I bought small juice boxes. I have the feeling it was user error. Anyway, when my daughter got down to the last of the juice, she was practically putting her face down into the holder because the straw was stuck all the way in.

In any case, these products will save you a lot of hassle when it comes to juice boxes. They might also save a few pairs of clothes and your carpet!

Juice box holders are available in Babies-R-Us stores.
