Ideas for Your Child's Christmas Treeby Mary Ann Romans | More from this Blogger 09 Dec 2008 12:11 PM
I suggest that you get a small table top tree for this project. Artificial trees work best, as there are many different sizes to choose from, and you won't have to worry about allergies that may be a result of a natural real tree. If you want to get started on a tree for your baby or young child, here are some ideas. You can adapt the ideas for almost any age. For baby's first Christmas, decorate the tree with ornaments declaring it. There are so many choices for "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments, and you can just go crazy with them. Later, you can pack some away to save and give others to special relatives to share and remember this time. For older children, get ornaments that coordinate with the age of the child, such as "3"s or the year. A simple very pretty Christmas tree can be made quickly with a string of tiny white lights and either pink or blue bows. A spool of thin ribbon can be had very easily. You can then cut the ribbons into lengths and simply tie the bows to the tree. For a toddler or preschooler, give her some crayons and paper and let her scribble or draw. Using cookie cutters or a upturned glass, cut out shapes from the scribbled paper. Punch a hole in each shape and tie it to the tree with some ribbon. You can use these ornaments year after year and even incorporate them into your family tree. Click here for more articles by Mary Ann Romans.
