First Fourth of July Part II

This is something that I have observed about my daughter: she is very interested in every aspect of her five senses. When it comes to smelling things, she is anxious to get a good pondering whiff of the wonderful smells around her. The array of fourth of July fare was not any different and she even insisted on being held during our meal without wanting to nurse (which never happens). She watched everyone at the table taking bites of foods with this look of anticipation on her face. Needless to say she was very excited about the food even though … Continue reading

Preparing for the 4th

Is your house ready for the 4th of July? Usually, I decorate for every holiday, lately, I’ve been letting those things slide. I think it’s time to at least get some flags out and show a little spirit. For most of the United States the 4th means bbq’s and family. I love summer holidays, any excuse to get together with my family and friends, I’ll take it. Holiday dinners in the winter are nice but there is something to be said about sitting outside, after the sun goes down on a warm summer evening and watching the kids run around … Continue reading

We then took a look at “Organic for Health,” a book which tells us of the importance of going organic and how it can help us overcome our health issues. It also includes some tasty-sounding recipes. “I’d Really Like to Eat a Child” is a quirky children’s picture book … Continue reading

3 Quick Ways to Celebrate the 4th of July

June is almost over, which means the 4th of July is right around the corner. Here are some easy ideas for celebrating the holiday. Take an embroidery hoop and tie or tape on red, white, and blue ribbons or streamers. If you don’t have a hoop, you can cut out a circle from a cardboard box or even a paper plate. Once you’ve taped or tied your streamers on, the children can run and spin with the toy. The ribbons fly out and make fun designs in the air. I will say that ribbons last longer than streamers, but are … Continue reading

Happy Leap Year Baby!

I know, even before I write it, that this is going to sound dumb so bear with me here; but I never realized there were people out there with Leap Year birthdays. Yes, I get that people are born every day and it stands to reason that there are babies right now being born on this illustrious day of February 29th. What I mean is that I just had never thought about it. And apparently, some patients who can choose their due dates (via scheduled c-section), are leaping at the chance to give birth to little leapers. Why Leapers Are … Continue reading
