An Amazing Remedy for Diaper Rash

A month ago my good friend told me about her new favorite product when it comes to diapering: California Baby Non-Burning and Calming Diaper Area Wash. I put off buying it because Target was a little out of my way, but this past week my son developed a terrible rash, and so I made a point to swing by Target and pick it up. Before I tell you how well this stuff works, let me preface that by saying that this rash was the worst my son ever had. He developed two open sores that would bleed if wiped during … Continue reading

Diaper Rash Control: Homemade Spray

I’ve written before about my daughter’s diaper rashes. Her skin is sensitive, and she breaks out very easily, depending on the type of diapers and wipes we use. This rash isn’t simply a little redness or some bumps. It’s a full-blown, red, inflamed, scabby, awful rash. We had a system that was working well for us. We had her diaper rash under control. That all changed when she started teething. I’m not sure why teething affects diaper rashes, but I know that it caused hers to return. I again found myself trying and testing new methods to see what would … Continue reading

Triple Paste

When my daughter was born, she was diagnosed with VATER syndrome. Her renal system and vertebrae were fine, but she did have an esophageal Atresia and an imperforated anus. In her first week of life, our baby had two surgeries; a minor one on her butt and a major one on her esophagus. As a result, she was in a lot of discomfort and needed as much rest as possible. In addition to not wanting to disturb her, the nurses also had to be extra careful not to irritate her bottom area. Therefore, they did not change her diaper as … Continue reading

Bag Balm: My Miracle

As I begin to write, I feel like a broken record. It seems like every other blog I write is diaper rash this, diaper rash that. Still, diaper rashes are a major topic in the world of parents of babies. If there’s something you think about more than your baby’s poop or butt, please, enlighten me, because I can’t think of something that’s on my mind more often than that. But, I digress. I’m writing today to share with you the wonders of Bag Balm. I’d heard about it before, I know moms who use it, but I had never … Continue reading

Tea Tree Oil: Worth The Risks?

I’ll admit it. I jumped on the tea tree oil bandwagon, and I don’t want to get off. Tea tree oil is said to have numerous uses and health benefits. From relieving the itch of insect bites and speeding up the healing process of cuts and bruises, to clearing up acne and curing athlete’s foot, it seems there is nothing tea tree oil can’t do. I didn’t start using tea tree oil until I came across recipes for homemade baby wipe solutions that called for a couple drops of the oil. My baby has always had sensitive skin that is … Continue reading
