Making Baby Food

When I was a first-time Mom, I had no intention of making my own baby food. I was too overwhelmed with just being a new Mom that I just didn’t even entertain the idea. However, with my second, I wanted to give it a try. I didn’t have to buy a lot of tools and gadgets to make it easy and simple. But, I did have a lot of questions. One website I turned to was Wholesome Baby Food. This website is a great resource for any Mom that is looking to make their own baby food. It is full … Continue reading

Go With It.

One thing that every mother should prepare for is the unexpected. I hate the unexpected. I am a schedule abiding mom, and like order, and structure in my life. But, the truth is, just about everyday, something un-expected happens when you have a baby. Whether it be sickness, or crankiness, or your baby surprising you when he learns something new, there is always something! So, moms-to-be: beware! But, how do you prepare for the unexpected? Isn’t that pretty close to impossible? I’m still learning as I go. But, like every Mom, I try to think of everything. I think, “Will … Continue reading

Baby Language

With my first child, I never worried too much about “teaching” her how to talk. However, I did come up with one technique that seemed to work when she was a toddler. If she would mis-pronounce a word, I would simply say it back to her correctly. If she was having difficulty saying something, I would tell her to look at my mouth. When she was watching my mouth, I would enunciate slowly as she watched. It almost always did the trick. She would be able to say the word correctly from then on. Now, I have a boy and … Continue reading

Birthdays for Babies

My little “baby” just turned two. I can hardly believe it. I still think of him as a baby, but now, he is turning into such a little boy. When we had his 2nd birthday, we kept it simple. We only invited family over, opened a few presents, and ate cake and ice cream. It was pretty much the same thing we did for his 1st birthday too. For my daughter, she had a bigger birthday when she turned two. She had friends over, and we had a little slip n slide party in the backyard. I felt bad that … Continue reading

Can “Spoiling” Baby Create a Kinder Kid?

A friend posted an article on her facebook page, that supports my own personal views on parenting babies. I’ve never been a “cry it out” kind of Mom. I just couldn’t do it. I never felt it was the right way to go with my children. Although, I have friends who swear by the Baby Wise method, it just wasn’t for me. With my first child, every little whimper she made I ran to her side. I held her constantly, and nursed her around the clock as an infant. She co-slept with us for the first 4 months of her … Continue reading
