Oh Baby, Baby!

Twins! One of the moms from my scrapbooking group recently gave birth to healthy twin girls. I finally got to meet them last week. They are much tinier than I had anticipated, but are still cute as can be. Despite being overwhelmed by the constant feedings and diaper changing, the twins’ mom is doing something I would never consider attempting three weeks post partum: She’s piecing together the twins’ first scrapbook. She received a ton of baby-themed scrapbooking supplies during her shower, but I didn’t think she would get crafting so soon after giving birth. Apparently, she doesn’t want to … Continue reading

Family Reunion Planning: Types and Themes

I may have gotten ahead of myself in this family reunion planning series, since technically this post should have come before my post about budget, venue, and food. Considering the type of reunion you will have, and any theme you may want, will help tremendously when determining your reunion budget. TYPES Small, intimate gatherings are probably the easiest and most inexpensive family reunions to plan. These often include just a few of your closest family members, and may be held in celebration of a special event, such as an anniversary, birthday, graduation, baby shower, etc. Medium-sized family reunions can also … Continue reading

Baby Blog Month in Review: August 2008

Isn’t it crazy the way babies grow so quickly? It seems that you just get used to one stage and boom they are already into another. Don’t worry about the missing last week of blogs. I’ve gotten quite a few questions about where I have been. The Baby Blog tends to go on hiatus the last week of the month. That may change in the … Continue reading

Scrapbooks Made Easy

I am a huge fan of Shutterfly albums. While some call them an insult to scrapbooks, when you are in a hurry or simply don’t have the creative juices to craft a traditional memory album, the hardcover digitally generated books featuring your favorite photos and journaling, simply can’t be beat. I like to refer to the albums as scrapbooks made easy. You simply can’t fail when crafting the digital albums, as the directions are a cinch to follow and the actual steps are short and sweet. Several companies offer these types of books, including Shutterfly and Snapfish, which have designed … Continue reading

Planning a Nursery

One of the most exciting parts of my pregnancy was planning my son’s nursery. I could not wait for my 18 week ultrasound so I could find out the sex of our baby. Even before the ultrasound, I had begun planning color schemes and themes for both boys and girls. I found myself hoping for a girl simply because I preferred the brown and pink modern theme I had picked out. Once we got the news, I forgot all about my pink and brown nursery, and started pouring over ideas for a little boy’s room. It wasn’t long before I … Continue reading
